Noah Courser-Kellerman
Noah grew up in Essex, MA. As a kid, he worked in the vegetable garden with his parents and helped out with haying. He got a job on a vegetable farm the summer after graduating high school and found himself hopelessly addicted to farming. After studying sustainable agriculture in college, some apprenticeships and a season of solo market gardening, Noah started Alprilla Farm on his family’s land in Essex with a friend in 2011. Sophie and Noah ran the farm in Essex until moving to Warner in spring of 2022 to start a new chapter of Alprilla Farm. Noah loves food, the mysteries of the soil, plants and old machinery.
Sophie Courser-Kellerman
Sophie grew up on Courser Farm in Warner where she gardened, made hay and raised several pairs of oxen. After studying Environmental Studies at Vassar College, she grew a market garden for a couple seasons and visited farms around the world before joining the Alprilla crew in Essex, MA in 2013. She’s so excited to be back in Warner growing food alongside her family of farmers on land they’ve tended for generations. She loves the woods, cooking on a fire with friends, carpentry and farming with oxen.
